- Our next book will be Crystal City Lights. We'll start it after winter break.
- Read the rest of Cord of Three Strands!
- Here are the journal prompts for this section. (I love hearing these each week!!
- The only words that you may not know from this section are: writhe, palpable, dirge, touted, sconces, and festoons.
- We're going to do some practice picking out the main idea of a paragraph. Complete the sheet and we'll go over it in class.
- In addition to the journal prompts, I would like for you to complete the following (thoroughly!):
- In complete sentences, describe ONE of the following scenes in the book: the burning Cherokee village, the slave cabin where Annie lives with her family, the Thompson’s secret room, the palisade where the Indians were kept before the journey
- The number three is used repeatedly in this novel. For example, there are three states that Annie, John, and Abraham visit together. List as many groups of three as you can.
- There were a lot of history topic that were mentioned in A Cord of Three Strands. Choose something that interested you and do some research on it! You can use books, websites, or even get a parent to help you find videos on it. On Wednesday, we will be start working on an essay for the week!
