  • Review list 13 by reading through the list and talking about the words together.
  • Then, play the blooket a couple times to review!
11:25-12:15 Lunch / Play with animals if you want!


12:15-1:15 Literature- 

  • GIRLS ONLY -- Read through and peer-review each other's essays.  Work on all paragraphs (including intro and conclusion.)  We will then check them out this afternoon once I get there!
  • CLARK-- Use this time to work on spelling, and also work on the sheet where you make corrections to the sentences.  NO WHINING!  (There are weird spaces in the words because the font printed weirdly.  Sorry!)

Literature- We'll go over these things on Wednesday!  Be sure to bring them in :-)

  • Girls- Keep working on your research.  Come up with main topic for your essay.  Then, organize your body paragraphs.  You can use an outline or graphic organizer.  Work on your body paragraphs and bring them to class on Monday of class.  We'll go over them and then start working on an introduction and conclusion.
  • Clark- Keep researching your topic.  Just read and learn!  Write a few sentences that let others know about your topic.

Literature- We'll go over these things on Wednesday!  Be sure to bring them in :-)

  • Our next book will be Crystal City Lights.  We'll start it after winter break.
  • Read the rest of Cord of Three Strands!  
  • Here are the journal prompts for this section.  (I love hearing these each week!!
  • The only words that you may not know from this section are: writhe, palpable, dirge, touted, sconces, and festoons. 
  • We're going to do some practice picking out the main idea of a paragraph.  Complete the sheet and we'll go over it in class.
  • In addition to the journal prompts, I would like for you to complete the following (thoroughly!):
    •  In complete sentences, describe ONE of the following scenes in the book:  the burning Cherokee village, the slave cabin where Annie lives with her family, the Thompson’s secret room, the palisade where the Indians were kept before the journey
    • The number three is used repeatedly in this novel.  For example, there are three states that Annie, John, and Abraham visit together.  List as many groups of three as you can.

  • There were a lot of history topic that were mentioned in A Cord of Three Strands.  Choose something that interested you and do some research on it!  You can use books, websites, or even get a parent to help you find videos on it.  On Wednesday, we will be start working on an essay for the week!
