History (to get ready for our first literature book!)

• Today, I want you to all work together to make a timeline of American history from the Jamestown Colony of 1607 to the Louisiana Purchase in 1803.  Instead of just making a timeline, you're going to make banners for us to hang up on the wall!  We can add to the banner as we go through the year.
• I have 14 different banner pieces printed for you.  Each of you choose some to work on.  Color it neatly and then use the following website and the books in our classroom to write a little explanation of the event on the lines.
• Timeline of American History.  
• Ducksters US History (You'll have to click around and find information.  It's a great site that is easy to read!)
